The No Bases Initiative, or “Ne Zakladnam”, was founded in June 2006 as a reaction to the reports of negotiations held behind the back of the public. There are almost sixty organizations and many outstanding personalities among the members of the Initiative. The main objective of this initiative is non-violent opposition to the aim of setting the US radar or missile base in the Czech Republic and pushing through the referendum on this issue. Our aims include supporting the public debate and spreading arguments against the construction of the base. The No Bases Initiative is a non-party platform open to all organizations and individuals that agree with its objectives. All of our activities are based on the principle of voluntariness, we are not well-paid consultants or lobbyists.
